Mara Swan

Executive Vice President, Global Strategy and Talent

Mara Swan is ManpowerGroup's Executive Vice President, Global Strategy and Talent, a position she has held since January 2009. Swan joined the company as Senior Vice President of Global Human Resources in 2005 and has had a significant impact in both the human resources area of the organization and the strategy and contemporary talent development area.

As a recognized expert in Human Resources, Swan features regularly as a speaker at high profile events, including the Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, where she has provided council on women in leadership, among other topics. In recognition of her success, she was named HR Executive of the Year for 2012 by Human Resource Executive magazine. Swan was also named one of Diversity Journal's "Women Worth Watching" in 2010 and a "Women of Influence" by the Milwaukee Business Journal in 2008.

A veteran of the human resources profession, Swan joined ManpowerGroup from the Molson Coors Brewing Company where she served as Chief People Officer for its global operations. Prior to her tenure with Molson Coors, she was Human Resources Manager for Miller Brewing Company.

Swan was elected to the National Academy of Human Resources (NAHR) National Class of 2012, is on the Executive Committee of the Personnel Roundtable, and is a member of the National Executive Board of the Human Capital Institute, the global association for talent management and new economy leadership. She is also on the Boards of the HR Policy Association and Boys & Girls Clubs, Greater Milwaukee, the Advisory Board of the Alverno College School of Business, and the Board of GOJO Industries, Inc.

Swan holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Buffalo and a master's degree in industrial relations from the University of Minnesota.
